Bra's
For active women a sports bra is an essential element of a sports kit bag. Bosoms bounce, even little ones and even if you wouldn’t normally wear a bra because your breasts are pert and small you may still suffer chafing or ‘nipple burn’ when rough fabrics (or compositions that irritate the skin) accompanied by sweat generated through strenuous activity rub against this sensitive part of the body.
Apart from protecting from ‘nipple burn’ a sports bra will also help hold breasts in place. There can be a lot of discomfort when breasts bounce up and down on the treadmill, track or pitch. For some women who are self-conscious they want to protect their modesty and avoid attracting attention to their bouncing curves and a sports bra will help resolve that issue.
During exercise the muscles generate heat which is managed by the body sweating to control temperature. The evaporation of sweat from the skin helps to cool the body down. Sweat tends to gather where there are creases, cracks and joins. The appendicular skeleton – the limbs – join and are close to other skin covered areas, the armpits, the groin get heated up quickly as does the area underneath the breast tissue where sweat can gather and dribble down the midriff. Sweat from the head and neck also trickles down the body in rivulets between the breasts so it is an area that can get quite wet and smelly if the sweat sits and goes stale.
Sports bras should be treated like other topical sports wear and laundered after each session to keep the garment fresh. Some styles contain added anti-microbial treatment to help keep them odour free and stretchiness and softness is standard in the designs JKL Clothing has on offer.
