Although most men would prefer the weather to be pleasant in order to get a fair game of golf played, as long as the course is playable they will turn for a quick nine holes or a leisurely eighteen if time allows. As long as they can get a round in they’ll turn out.

If the course is a bit blowy or an early morning start has been made, the dew still sits on the grass and there remains a chill in the air, all that is needed is a sweater to provide a layer of warmth. Chunky knits would be restrictive and probably too warm once you have gotten going so the ideal garment needs to be lightweight but with excellent thermal insulation qualities and breathability for comfort.

Natural fabrics that fit this description are wool and cotton. Wool is a particularly suitable material and lambs wool provides a fine yarn that makes a terrific close weave which allows flexibility in the fabric. Lightweight and unobtrusive a lambs wool or cotton mix sweater will offer warmth when it’s a bit parky outside and will complement a polo shirt well.

Long sleeved and sleeveless sweaters are available to suit your taste and crew neck and V-neck styles are options available for choice.
