Like many sportsmen and sportswomen who play their sport outdoors, men and lady golfers often wear a cap of some sort to shield them from the glare of the sun so that they can see lines of play and the movement of a ball without squinting.

In golf it is particularly tricky to wear glasses or sunglasses as the head is bent down when addressing the ball and glasses could easily fall off or not be in the correct position for the different movements of the head and the focus of the eyes.
