An item worn at the neck will be instantly noticed as it forms a block of colour against the shirt or blouse, making it prominent even from far away. If you have chosen a particular colour or pattern of tie for your male staff you might want to have a similar look for the women. There are some collections that have matching scarves and ties or you might choose to coordinate the ‘uniform’ by picking up on an accent colour used in a pattern.

By this means you can have many options that could identify staff from different sectors. A lead supervisor might wear a striped scarf and those for whom she is responsible might have a single coloured scarf that features in the coloured stripes.

The scarves may be worn at the throat on an open neckline or behave like a tie when secured at the collar of a shirt or blouse. Being a fabric rectangle, rather than shaped like formal ties, they will form a soft, elegant knot when tied in the same style as the men’s ties. They could be folded and secured with a brooch-pin for a different look but whatever way you choose to wear them they will afford a smart and sharp professional appearance.
