Hoodies

Hoodies, or hooded sweatshirts, are extremely popular garments with children of all ages. They have achieved a certain elevated fashion status as credible ‘street wear’ and this gives them extra appeal to youngsters and teenagers.

They can be used as an outer garment or as an extra warming layer for indoor wear during cold spells. Basically a hoodie is a sweatshirt with an integral soft hood. It possesses all the properties and qualities of a sweatshirt – comfortable, practical, easily put on and taken off – and has the added bonus of the attached hood to keep neck and ears warm, eliminating the need for a scarf and there for use when required.

Both girls and boys enjoy wearing hoodies and the front pouch pockets offer protection and warmth for hands so that the wearer does not need to have gloves. Waiting at a bus stop or lining up for dismissal in the playground with a backpack on, head and hands can be warm and cosy and there is no fuss about scarves or gloves that can be lost or left behind. Hands can slip out of the pouch to pick up grip bags or offer a bus pass without any fumbling or annoying others behind in a queue.

They can always look their best as they can join the regular household laundry in the washing machine – quite a feat for a garment that doubles up as outerwear.
