Cardigans are pretty, feminine items of clothing. They are easy to put on by yourself and are especially good for girls who don’t like to put their heads through neck holes either because of a claustrophobic fear or awkwardness when a hairstyle gets caught in the opening of a pull on top.

They can be teamed with blouses and shirts or T-shirts, look lovely over a dress and are a stylish companion to jeans and trousers. As they are button fronted they can sometimes been worn like a cape or a shawl to drape the shoulders when only a little warmth and protection is needed and when they are not needed and are removed they can be handily tied around the waist by their sleeves so that they don’t get lost or left behind.

Cardigans can look casual and can look sophisticated too. They are very adaptable and can be dressed up or dressed down as required, so if an occasion asks for more formal attire a cardigan can bring the finishing touch to an outfit with understated elegance.

Cardigans are meant to be worn outside the waistband of the clothes it is worn with and a fashionable twist is the addition of a belt to cinch the waist and give a different look to an outfit.
