For toddlers, a peaked baseball cap might your preferred headwear and getting them used to wearing hats is something that will stand them in good stead as they get older and need to wear garments that provide protection from UV rays and glare from the sun when playing sports. Being machine washable they will survive even the meanest of treatments like being abandoned in sandpits and suchlike and still manage to look like new.
