Body suits have to be the single most wonderful innovation in children’s clothing. Picking up newborns can make anyone a little nervous especially when you are trying to comfort a crying baby. Not being able to tell you what is troubling them it is down to a process of elimination and an educated guess as to the problem.

Are they in pain? Are they hungry? Do they need a nappy change? Is wind the problem? Are the teething? If they smell fetid or feel damp that would identify a nappy change being required. A back rub producing a satisfying burp would indicate wind was the bother. Dribbling and drooling, red cheeks, nappy rash and constant gnashing would suggest that teething is particularly annoying. But what if none of those are the problem?

With delicate skin even a small wrinkle in clothing can be dreadfully uncomfortable for a baby’s skin. By wearing a good fitting body suit that is secured at the gusset there will be no issue with fabric riding up so picking up your baby won’t cause any fabric to pucker or slide harshly against the skin.

As a bottom layer of clothing it will provide a great thermal foundation or as a an alternative to a vest or T-shirt the bodysuit looks well as a top layer with an assortment of vibrant and pastel colours to coordinate with other garments.
